Once again I’m proud to announce that I have been nominated as a finalist in the Rising Star category in the 2023 Brentwood Business Awards!
Last year, I had the privilege of being a finalist in the Rising Star category which I was chuffed with and even happier to be a back-to-back finalist 😉.
The Rising Star award was a new category in the Brentwood Business Awards last year and “is open to young persons aged 25 and under, at the time of application who are excelling in their pursuit of a business career and demonstrated a desire for business success”. Congratulations to the other finalist in this year’s Rising Star category and to all of the other nominees too.
This year’s award is sponsored by Matchroom who I’d like to thank for making the award very easy and who I had the delight of meeting during the interview process. I won’t be going in a boxing ring any time soon but it’s great to have been involved with Matchroom as I have a real interest in boxing, pool and many of the other sports under their wing.
In 2022, I was over the moon when I received the news that I had been selected as a finalist in the Brentwood Business Awards as it was a real shock to me. I hadn’t actually planned to go for the award but when I was anonymously nominated, I buckled down and started to work on my application which ended up landing me as one of the finalist nominees 😎.
As part of the awards process, there is an awards ceremony where the winners are announced and all in all is a great event to be a part of. It was great to attend and see how well Brentwood and local businesses are prospering.
Even though I didn’t end up getting the W, it was a delight to be a finalist and was a great testament to the strides that I have been making in business 🥳.
As Anthony Joshua said, “the first time was so nice, I had to do it twice”, and that’s why I knew that I’d be going for the award again in 2023.
Going into this year after the success of last year’s awards, I was determined to be nominated as a finalist again and to hopefully go one step further and win this time! It would be great to win as an example to young entrepreneurs that it is possible to be successful by running your own business despite not going into full-time employment or studying at university (both of which are brilliant in their own rights).
Of course, I want to give a massive thanks to those in my support network, friends and family as well as the many local and national businesses that I have worked with in my career so far.
Thanks as well to the Brentwood Chamber Of Commerce for the opportunity once again and for organising what will be a great event on the November 10th. If you are looking for tickets to attend the event, you can do so from Eventbrite here.
As always, it will be great to see the local businesses flourishing and I’m looking forward to speaking to everyone on the 10th. Once more, I’m delighted to be a finalist again and this year I’ll be looking to come away as the Rising Star winner 🏆.
